New flaw detector received

Compliance of manufactured products with the highest quality standards is a priority task of the Enter Steel machine-building plant team. For this purpose, the company has a laboratory where modern equipment is installed, allowing specialists to carry out the necessary research with high accuracy.

Recently a new flaw detector on phased arrays OmniScan X3 was put into operation. Its work was highly appreciated by the laboratory staff who noted the ease of use, reliability and accuracy of the device readings.

- The new flaw detector has a wide range of applications, including diagnostics of welds, pipelines, corrosion-resistant alloys, - said Alexander Chernyshev, leading specialist of the Central Plant Laboratory. - Thanks to the capabilities of the device we carry out precise corrosion monitoring, control of high-temperature hydrogen cracking, and the high resolution of images allows us to detect the smallest defects. In addition, the Acoustic Impact Map (AIM) makes it possible to visualise the sensitivity of the TFM and adjust it accordingly in four modes - making it easy to measure and evaluate defects.

The specialist also noted the ease of use of the device, which allows even untrained specialists to use it. - This is a new generation of flaw detectors with a large number of functions and options," said lab technician Zarema Ibragimov. - Omniscan X3 has a GPS module and the ability to transmit data via Wi-Fi. The shockproof case is protected from moisture and dust. And most importantly, it allows us to find defects almost instantly with impressive visualisation. Now we can get the most accurate data on the possible presence of defects and quickly send scanning results to colleagues directly from the inspection site.

In conclusion, I would like to add that these advantages and advantages of the flaw detector help to increase the efficiency of surveys, significantly save working time, and most importantly improve the quality of products!
